Abstract

|
Retrieval of failed implants is a problematic procedure in the field of implant dentistry. Since the procedures for removal of fixed implants are aggressive or require specific tool sets for each implant system, a new technique that is less invasive and universally applicable to all implant systems is desirable. The aim of this study was to show a new technique of vertically splitting the fixture into half which is both minimally invasive and universally applicable for the removal of all failed implants. Removing the problematic implant with the new technique is described.
